We've been patiently watching our chrysalides for the past week, waiting for any changes. On Wednesday some of the chrysalides started to shake and by the end of the day most of them has split open and beautiful painted lady butterflies had emerged. We fed the butterflies with fruit juice and kept them warm until they had dried out. On Friday we plan to release them into our garden and to post some photographs of them flying freely. Soon they will lay eggs on nettle leaves and the eggs with hatch into caterpillars and the life cycle will begin all over again!
