Thomas Bewick School are looking for Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants to join the friendly team of staff providing support / care to children and young people during the midday break.

Thomas Bewick is a successful specialist school for pupils with autism aged between three and nineteen years. Ofsted reported the school as being ‘good’ in April 2016.

Candidates must have experience of working with, or caring for, children and be able to: • establish positive relationships with children; • communicate with children in a way that they can understand and relate to; • engage and motivate children to join in organised play activities; • deal with any challenging behaviour in a patient, quiet manner; • be sensitive to the differing needs of children; • work effectively as part of a team.

Candidates should be aware that Thomas Bewick School is part of Prosper Learning Trust and the trust will be the employer.

Prosper Learning Trust was established in January 2018 with Newcastle Bridges School and Mary Astell Academy. Thomas Bewick School joined in 2019 and Harry Watts Academy opened in September 2020. We are striving

to further build collaboration across the schools and grow as a Multi Academy Trust, whilst continuing to strengthen our relationships with schools outside the MAT for the benefit of our pupils.

The successful candidates will be deployed at Thomas Bewick School but will be expected to work at any Prosper Learning Trust site should the need arise.
