Due to poor weather conditions, our weekly visit to Kirkley Hall was indoors this week. We got to go in to the rodent room were we fed the mice, gerbils, hamsters, degus and chinchillas. We had to find the correct food for each type of animal and had to weigh out how many grams we needed for each cage, based on the type of animal and how many were housed in each cage. While we were feeding them we also got to hold any rodent of our choice. We held Chunk the rat, Zendaya the hamster, and we had the Russian dwarf hamster out who was very quick and attempted an escape while we were there! Luckily everyone worked together and he was safely returned to his tank! We then made our way in to the discovery room where we handled the pupil's favourite animals in there, Belle the royal python and Sally the bearded dragon.
