Prior to the first lockdown, some of the staff at Alnwood were engaging in Yoga at lunchtime as part of a well-being initiative. When this was no longer possible due to Covid and the constraints of the new restrictions, we initiated 'Walking Wednesday.'
This initiative has been very beneficial as it provides the staff at Alnwood with exercise and fresh air, as well as a short break from wearing a face mask. All of the staff in the hospital are required to wear face masks for the entirety of the day and also within the hospital grounds.
Currently at Alnwood, we are following an amended timetable so staff are all working on different days. Nevertheless, many staff have continued to take a walk alone at lunchtime as a way to ensure they maintain their positive well-being. (In one of the older photographs we are still wearing our masks, as we had not left the hospital grounds.)
